Each year, the LGBT Life Center relies heavily on volunteers to support our community. We have volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups.

Office Support
Help be the face of LGBT Life Center! From answering the phone to making safe-sex packets, our volunteers are a critical part of the work we do.

Special Events
We host several annual events that grant funding and support to the LGBTQ and HIV communities. Duties vary from setup to breakdown, greeters, registration, and many other opportunities.

Pantry Support
Our PRIDE nourishment pantry is free and open to the general Monday through Friday, until 5 pm. Our diet pantry receives anywhere from 4, lbs. of nourishment each month. We are seeking committed, regular volunteers who can donate their time to assist with receiving, inventorying, and distributing food in our pantry.  Make a difference in your community with your time!

Volunteering can improve mental health and help cut down anxiety and depression.  It can offer ways to connect to community, by providing aid and information, and by helping to create individual connections. Connections that are vital for a thriving community.

By offering up your time and skills you are supporting and uplifting others through critical support, resource gathering, highlighting community and so much more.  

There are many different ways to volunteer and offer support and all are important!

Volunteering can be tremendously rewarding.  It can allow for insight on how the LGBTQIA+ community ls living, it can be a way to learn about the many different programs and organizations that serve our family and community from big cities to petite towns.  It can be a way to hand back and help the next person who is coming into their own.

The LGBT National Help Center has several different types of volunteer positions for different types of volunteering.

Volunteers are the backbone of HRC, and our volunteers work on the front lines in the clash for LGBTQ+ equality.

HRC’s strong network of all-volunteer communities is made up of people from a expansive array of backgrounds, experiences, identities, and skill sets. We invest in our volunteers through leadership development and recognition programs, offering workshops, conferences, online resources and support from staff to ensure that our leaders become the strongest and most effective advocates, leaders and fundraisers they can be.

To Achieve Our Mission We:

  • Identify and attach with nonprofits that assist the environment, animal welfare, and people in necessitate in each city chapter (including organizations not traditionally associated with the LGBTQ+ community)

  • Support select organizations through volunteer service (time), and help to amplify their missions through our vast network of LGBTQ+ volunteers.

  • Coordinate social events for Gay For Good&#;s LGBTQ+ volunteers, and our allies, to develop friendships and network

  • Foster and promote a spirit of positive, enthusiastic camaraderie both within the LGBTQ+ community and towards our neighbors and nonprofit partner organizations

  • Do something valuable for our community, city and country
