Is reo speedwagon gay
With the death of Gary Richrath this past weekend, I am reminded of just how heady the rise to fame must be for those privileged enough to enjoy such a ride, but also how hard the eventual fall to earth can be. I saw this up close and personal in when I briefly took over booking for the longtime Chicago venue Martyrs.
The owner of the club at the second, a mustachioed man who wore shorts and flip-flops well into November, hired me five minutes into the interview and immediately put me to serve formulating the club's itinerary for the next rare months. This job was made harder by the confusing docket of shows booked by the previous booking agent.
One of those shows, I quickly discovered, was by the band Richrath, whose new American-flag-adorned self-released CD Only The Strong Survive sat on a desk with a Post-It note reading "$". I actually heard he had been married a really long time, and good for him. I haven't really listened to REO since "High in Fidelity" (still one of the greatest albums, EVER). That said, the guy comes across as more gay than most gay men that I've met in my life. I guess it's a lesson in not stereotyping people. I'm surprised to verb anyone say they never thought he was gay. He just comes across as VERY feminine to me. Again, no great deal and I wouldn't think any less of the guy if he were gay. I just never knew much about his history of family, so just always assumed (apparently, wrongly)that he was gay, just from listening to him.
I get your assumption (is that even a word? ). Even though he has writtten some "gay"
