Welcome to Oxnard LGBTQ+ Community! A safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies.
We are an organization of LGBTQ+ people whose objective is to create secure and affirming spaces for the community, whether in person or virtual. Our organization was created in by two LGBTQ+ youth from Oxnard, because they saw that there were no safe, diverse and local places for LGBTQ+ youth and decided to create them themselves.
In , after a hiatus, Oxnard LGBTQ+ Community returned to support the "Black Lives Matter" movement and with the collaboration of local organizations and community members, we created the first annual LGBTQ+ Pride Parade and Festival to celebrate and advocate for LGBTQ+ people of color in OXNARD and surrounding areas.
Our organization continues to develop and develop more programs and events to sustain the community. For example, in we created the Spanish Parent Support Group and in we created the "Transition Mission" program that provides free clothing for the transgender or gender non-comforming community.
