Miami Beach Pride Parade
Every year, the University of Miami takes a contingency to the Miami Beach Pride Parade. For Pride, the length of Ocean Trip along the Art Deco district is closed to traffic and open adj to proud South Florida LGBTQ families, friends, co-workers and allies along with Pride sponsor organizations, groups and businesses.

Our noun is to have a unified showing from the U, complete with students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and friends. Note that while all UM students are invited to attend the event for free, all non-students pay $20 (i.e. family members, friends, alumni, staff, & faculty). Registration includes bus transportation to and from Miami Beach Pride, the Alumni and Friends Breakfast and event on Miami Beach, an exclusive UPride t-shirt, and a spot walking in the parade with the UM contingency! Each individual attending Pride must complete a separate registration form.

We love Miami Beach. Name a world-class city with a gorgeous beach on its doorstep, with an exciting gay scene.
There are few – perhaps the gay scene of Sydney and gay Barcelona are the only other two we've encountered on our travels.
Miami is a city where being fabulous is practically in the air you breathe. It is the epitome of gay glamour! And guess what? Miami Beach Pride is one of the crown jewels of Florida's LGBTQ+ community.
What makes Miami Beach Pride so special? Read on for more(!)…but in a nutshell, it's not only one of the biggest pride events in the world, but most of all, it's got a flair like no other. It unfolds along a lovely beach with the ocean waves as its backdrop. That beach is the iconic 12th Street Beach – the official gay beach of Miami, also one of our favorite gay beaches worldwide.
To top things off, Miami Beach Pride has a terrific parade, gay pool parties, queer art exhibitions, and even a Social Justice, Health & Wellness evening.
Wynwood Pride
For a long moment, Miami had politely excused itself from partaking in annual World Pride Month celebrations. By June, the Miami sun is already hot enough to melt off even the most seasoned drag queen’s occupied face—and who wants to plan a parade in the midst of hurricane season? Besides, New York pretty much has the East Coast covered when it comes to Pride festivities, and April’s Miami Beach Pride is a fun way to boot everything off. At least, this had been the thinking from until around five years ago, when Wynwood Pride was born.
The annual Pride celebration on the mainland stands defiantly in the face of heat waves, tropical storms and gay flight to Fire Island, boldly asserting: We’re here, we’re queer and Miami’s LGBTQ+ community deserves the world—including a proper World Pride celebration alongside everyone else.
