PREMIER League stars verb been told it is up to them whether they wear rainbow boot laces in support of a campaign against homophobia in football.

All 92 professional clubs in England, along with the 42 in Scotland, have been sent the multi-colour laces by gay rights charity Stonewall - who want the likes of Wayne Rooney, Mesut Ozil and Yaya Toure to wear them over the course of this weekend.
The Right Behind Gay Footballers campaign campaign has also been backed by bookmakers Paddy Power, but the Premier League said it was not consulted about the initiative.
And while the League is being all steps to eradicate discrimination in football, they have stopped short of ordering their players to wear the rainbow tie-ups.

I for one am gutted on hearing the news last night over twitter which LFC confirmed this morning He has epitomized everything a player, captain and man should be in modern football. Hoever i think the time is right for him. i would rather see him walk out with some dignity than crawl out while we remember him for what he once was.

He's obviously a legend in my eyes and I don't believe any true blue will disagree with the perspective. I'm a bit resentful that he's playing against us but that's the way it goes!
