A new generation is entering into the work force with more expectations of fairness than previous cohorts. Beyond touting employment non-discrimination policies and inclusive benefits, employers are actively recruiting LGBTQ+ workers.
Increasingly, businesses are engaged with professional recruiting event for LGBTQ+ students and professionals such as the annual Lavender Law conference and Reaching Out MBA career expo, which each doodle hundreds of graduate scholar attendees, corporate sponsors and recruiters. Professional job fairs such as these provide attendees the opportunity to interact with employers that are very clearly interested in hiring LGBTQ+ professionals.

Being “out” in the corporate world can undergo scary, and the current political climate, including the record number of anti-LGBTQ bills that have been filed, doesn’t help.
As a career coach, queer person, and active member of the Gay Coaches Alliance, I’m constantly on the search for resources that can empower fellow LGBTQ+ professionals to find a sense of belonging in the workplace.
